Algunas personas dicen que la UE vende alimentos peligrosos. Este alimento procede de insectos.

Los científicos dicen que esto no es cierto. La UE permite un nuevo ingrediente alimentario. Se trata de polvo de gusano amarillo de la harina. Pero antes, la UE comprueba que sea seguro para las personas.

Los insectos pueden ser un buen alimento. Son mejores para la naturaleza que la carne. Necesitan menos tierra y agua. La gente come insectos en muchos países, por ejemplo en África o Sudamérica. Pero esto es nuevo en Europa. Mucha gente en Europa no quiere comer insectos. Creen que los insectos son sucios. Así que puede pasar mucho tiempo antes de que la gente los acepte.

A algunos políticos no les gusta esta nueva idea. Dicen que la UE perjudica a los agricultores.
