Las islas Chagos son un grupo de islas del océano Índico. Una de estas islas se llama Diego García. Es muy importante. EEUU tiene allí una base militar. En 1968, Mauricio se libera del control británico. Pero el Reino Unido conserva las islas Chagos. EEUU quiere utilizar Diego García para la base. El Reino Unido hace que más de 1.000 personas abandonen sus hogares.
Ahora, el Reino Unido devolverá las islas a Mauricio. EEUU puede seguir utilizando la base durante los próximos 99 años. Además, la gente puede volver a las islas. Pero vivir allí será difícil.
