Sistema de alerta pública del Reino Unido – nivel 2

El domingo 23 de abril a las 15.00 horas, millones de teléfonos móviles del Reino Unido emitirán un fuerte sonido y vibrarán como parte de una prueba de un nuevo sistema de alerta pública creado por el gobierno.
El objetivo de este sistema es utilizarlo en emergencias como inundaciones e incendios forestales. El sonido será similar al de una llamada entrante normal, pero durará 10 segundos y sonará como una sirena. Sólo las personas con teléfonos móviles 4G y 5G recibirán el mensaje, el sonido y la vibración. El momento de esta prueba coincide con acontecimientos importantes como el maratón de Londres y dos partidos de fútbol de la Premier League. A algunas personas les preocupa que la alerta pueda distraer a los conductores y también revelar la ubicación de teléfonos secretos que algunas personas en situación de riesgo utilizan para protegerse.
