El Festival de Cine de Cannes empezó con muchos actores famosos desfilando por la alfombra roja. Pero este año también se habló de guerra y política.
La actriz francesa Juliette Binoche habló de Fátima Hassouna, fotoperiodista de Gaza de 25 años. Fátima murió en un ataque aéreo israelí un día después de enterarse de que una película en la que aparecía ella se proyectaría en el festival. Casi 400 personas que trabajan en el cine firmaron una carta. Quieren que cese la violencia en Gaza. Algunos preguntaron a Juliette por qué no había firmado la carta. Ella dijo que el arte aún puede hablar, incluso cuando la gente no puede.
En el festival también se proyectaron películas de Ucrania, Irán, Japón y Estados Unidos. Tom Cruise vendrá a proyectar su nueva película Misión Imposible. Cannes trata de cine, pero este año, mucha gente está pensando en los problemas del mundo.
