En Eslovaquia, muchas mujeres romaníes tienen un gran problema. En la década de 1990, los médicos las esterilizaron.
Esto significa que estas mujeres no pueden tener más hijos. Las mujeres no están de acuerdo. Algunas se enteran muchos años después, cuando ya no pueden tener más hijos. Se sienten tristes. La gente las juzga. En la cultura romaní, una familia grande es muy importante, así que esto les duele mucho.
Ahora, algunas mujeres y ayudantes quieren justicia y dinero del estado. Un grupo ayuda a las mujeres y revisa los papeles del hospital. Más de 140 mujeres de dos lugares tienen este problema. El gobierno dice que lo siente y puede dar dinero, pero no todos en Eslovaquia están de acuerdo. Las mujeres siguen esperando justicia.
