El Eid al-Fitr, festividad que marca el final del Ramadán, se celebró en todo el mundo con oraciones, reuniones familiares y actividades festivas.
Sin embargo, la guerra en curso en Gaza ensombreció la festividad para muchos musulmanes. A pesar del ambiente festivo, la crisis humanitaria en Gaza y la amenaza de ofensiva terrestre de Israel en Rafah empañaron las celebraciones. El presidente de Turquía, Erdogan, expresó su apoyo a Gaza e hizo hincapié en la necesidad de paz y tranquilidad. Kenia e Indonesia se hicieron eco de sentimientos similares. En Malasia, el primer ministro Anwar Ibrahim pidió unidad y respeto entre los diversos grupos.
Aunque alegres, las celebraciones estuvieron marcadas por la conciencia de la crisis actual en Gaza, lo que puso de relieve la importancia de la solidaridad y la compasión.
