En el zoo de Praga, los trabajadores alimentan a las crías de buitre con marionetas. Las marionetas se parecen a los padres del ave. Los verdaderos padres ya no alimentan a las crías.
Los trabajadores del zoo quieren que las crías conozcan a otros buitres, no a personas. Si las aves creen que las personas son sus padres, tienen un problema. Esto se llama impronta. Las marionetas ayudan a las aves a sentirse seguras y a aprender. El zoo también hace esto con otras aves.
El zoo de Praga es uno de los pocos que cuidan de estos buitres en Europa. De este modo, las aves crecen bien y pueden convivir con otros buitres más adelante.
