La región japonesa de Kagoshima quiere vender más té tencha a otros países. El tencha se utiliza para hacer matcha, un té que encanta a mucha gente porque es muy saludable. El matcha es ahora muy popular en Japón y también en el extranjero.
Un agricultor llamado Kamimuro cultiva té en la ciudad de Shibushi. Antes cultivaba sencha, un té verde común. Pero ahora cultiva tencha porque se vende a mejor precio. Para cultivar tencha, debe bloquear la luz solar durante tres semanas. También invirtió 1,4 millones de dólares en una gran máquina para secar las hojas.
Mucha gente de todo el mundo quiere comprar matcha, pero no hay suficiente tencha. Una empresa de Kagoshima ayuda a los agricultores a hablar con compradores de otros países. Quieren fabricar matcha en Kagoshima y enviarlo desde allí.
