Choque en Lisboa – nivel 2

En Lisboa se produjo un terrible accidente cuando el funicular Glória se salió de las vías y chocó contra un edificio.
Murieron 16 personas; procedían del Reino Unido, Portugal, Corea del Sur, Canadá, Suiza, Ucrania, Estados Unidos y Francia. Más de 20 personas resultaron heridas, y seis se encuentran en estado muy grave.
La empresa de transporte público, Carris, declaró que los trabajadores realizaban comprobaciones periódicas del funicular. También pasó una gran inspección en 2024 y una breve comprobación sólo unas horas antes del accidente. Aun así, el funicular se precipitó colina abajo y provocó este desastre.
La policía cree que la causa pudo ser un problema con los cables o la rotura de los frenos. También dicen que podría haber un delito si la empresa no cuidó bien del sistema.
