El 19 de junio de cada año. Es festivo en EEUU desde 2021.
Este día se conmemora la liberación de los esclavos negros en América. La gente empezó a celebrarlo en el Sur. Más gente se interesa tras las protestas por George Floyd en 2020. La policía lo mata. La gente celebra Juneteenth en las calles. Algunos estados todavía no tienen la fiesta. No tienen una ley al respecto.
El 19 de junio de 1865, un general libera esclavos en Texas. Ocurre dos años después de la Proclamación de Emancipación del presidente Lincoln. Texas convierte el 19 de junio en festivo en 1980. Ahora, muchos estados de EEUU tienen esta festividad. Juneteenth también nos hace pensar en los problemas raciales actuales en EEUU.
