La búsqueda en línea de Google es ilegal – nivel 3

El lunes, un juez estadounidense dictaminó que Google actuó ilegalmente para eliminar a su competencia y mantener el monopolio de las búsquedas y la publicidad en Internet.

Se trata de un revés importante para Alphabet, la empresa matriz de Google, y puede cambiar la forma de hacer negocios de las grandes empresas tecnológicas. El Departamento de Justicia de EEUU demandó a Google en 2020, alegando que controlaba el 90% del mercado de búsquedas online. Google paga a empresas como Apple y Samsung para ser el motor de búsqueda predeterminado en sus dispositivos, lo que impide a los competidores entrar en el mercado. La estrategia de Google restringe la competencia y la innovación en el mercado.

Las sanciones futuras podrían incluir poner fin a acuerdos exclusivos como el contrato de 20.000 millones de dólares de Google con Apple. Con ello se pretende invitar a nuevos actores y fomentar la innovación, especialmente con el auge de la IA, y garantizar que los actuales actores dominantes como Google, Apple y Meta no controlen la próxima oleada de innovación en IA.
