El viernes, un grave fallo tecnológico interrumpió los servicios en todo el mundo y puso de manifiesto la vulnerabilidad de las tecnologías interconectadas.
La empresa de ciberseguridad CrowdStrike se disculpó después de que una actualización de su software antivirus, que protege de los ataques a los dispositivos Microsoft Windows, provocara un apagón mundial. Esta interrupción provocó la cancelación y el retraso de miles de vuelos y afectó a los sistemas bancarios, sanitarios y de pago. Aunque ya se ha corregido el fallo del software, los expertos advierten que reiniciar manualmente cada ordenador afectado llevará mucho tiempo y esfuerzo. Microsoft calcula que el fallo afectó a 8,5 millones de ordenadores en todo el mundo, lo que lo convierte en el peor ciberataque de la historia.
El Centro Nacional de Ciberseguridad del Reino Unido y la agencia de seguridad informática de Alemania han advertido de que los estafadores podrían aprovecharse de la situación. A pesar del arreglo, llevará tiempo resolver todos los problemas y eliminar los retrasos. Es importante estar preparado para este tipo de interrupciones en el futuro y disponer de sistemas resistentes.
