Un tribunal francés condenó a Dahbia Benkired, de 27 años, a cadena perpetua por matar a Lola Daviet, de 12 años, en 2022. Atacó y mató a la niña en París.

Benkired procedía de Argelia y vivía en Francia ilegalmente; no tenía documentos para permanecer en Francia. Durante el juicio, permaneció callada y no mostró ningún sentimiento. Los expertos dijeron que no estaba mentalmente enferma, pero que no sentía empatía por los demás.

El asesinato conmocionó a mucha gente en Francia e hizo que los políticos hablaran de normas para los inmigrantes. El tribunal puede volver a examinar su caso al cabo de 30 años, pero sólo si es seguro. La familia de Lola lloró durante el veredicto y dijo que no era justo enviarla a prisión para el resto de su vida.
