Suiza comenzó su andadura en la Eurocopa 2024 con una victoria por 3-1 contra Hungría en Colonia.
Breel Embolo, de vuelta tras una larga lesión, marcó el último gol. El seleccionador Murat Yakin estaba contento con el regreso de Embolo. Suiza se adelantó 2-0 con goles de Kwadwo Duah y Michel Aebischer. Hungría marcó un gol, pero el gol de Embolo aseguró la victoria. Italia venció a Albania por 2-1 en Dortmund, tras encajar el gol más rápido de la historia de la Eurocopa. En Berlín, España ganó 3-0 a Croacia. Lamine Yamal, de 16 años, se convirtió en el jugador más joven de la Eurocopa.
Suiza jugará a continuación contra Escocia, y Hungría contra Alemania. La fase eliminatoria comienza el 29 de junio, y la final es el 15 de julio en Berlín.
