Los neutrinos existen en las reacciones nucleares. Pueden atravesar muchas cosas, incluso nuestro cuerpo, y no cambian. Los científicos aprenderán más sobre cómo funcionan los neutrinos. Pueden ayudarnos a comprender el universo.
El laboratorio está bajo tierra, en China. Cuesta 300 millones de dólares. Comenzará a funcionar en 2025. Observará los neutrinos procedentes de las centrales nucleares y del sol. Esta información nos ayudará a comprender cómo se mueve la superficie de la Tierra. JUNO estará listo antes que un proyecto similar en EEUU llamado DUNE. DUNE tiene problemas de dinero. Estará listo hacia 2030.
