En Michigan, Estados Unidos, un hombre de 65 años que se cayó a través del hielo en el lago Arbutus fue salvado gracias al pensamiento innovador del policía estatal Kammeron Bennetts.
Los transeúntes alertaron al 911 de la situación, y Bennetts, que llevaba una cámara corporal, utilizó a la perra del hombre, Ruby, para llevarle el equipo de rescate. El dramático rescate captado por la cámara muestra a Bennetts intentando un lanzamiento con un disco de rescate, que falla. Bennetts indica entonces al hombre que le envíe a Ruby. Con una rápida coordinación, Bennetts engancha el disco de rescate al collar de Ruby, y guía al hombre a un lugar seguro tirando de él hacia la superficie helada.
