En 1992 nació un perro llamado Bobi. Era un mastín portugués y la mayoría de los perros como él viven entre 12 y 14 años. Pero Bobi era diferente y vivió la increíble cifra de 31 años y 165 días.
El comienzo de la vida de Bobi fue duro. Cuando nació, los dueños no lo querían ni a él ni a sus tres hermanos. Se pensó en enterrarlos, que era algo normal en aquella época. Un joven llamado Leonel Costa y sus hermanos intervinieron y salvaron a Bobi. Pasó a formar parte de su familia y vivió con Leonel toda su vida.
En febrero de 2023, Bobi se convirtió oficialmente en el perro vivo más viejo del mundo. Batió el récord que hasta entonces ostentaba Bluey, un perro boyero australiano. Vivió 29 años y 5 meses.
