El gobierno estadounidense está investigando a UnitedHealth por posibles problemas con la facturación a Medicare.
Según el Wall Street Journal, la empresa informó de diagnósticos extra para obtener más pagos. UnitedHealth dice que no sabe nada de ninguna investigación y niega haber actuado mal. Tras la noticia, sus acciones cayeron un 7,3%, y otras compañías de seguros médicos también perdieron valor.
UnitedHealth ya tiene problemas legales, incluida una demanda del DOJ sobre Medicare Advantage. Algunos expertos dicen que la caída de las acciones podría ser excesiva porque sólo el 15% de sus clientes de seguros utilizan Medicare Advantage.
