Un nuevo curso en el Territorio del Norte de Australia enseña a los alumnos a mantener la calma cuando se encuentran con serpientes, incluso peligrosas como la serpiente rey parda y la pitón.

Johnny McGannon es un antiguo guarda forestal y dice que las serpientes no suelen querer atacar a la gente.

Los alumnos aprenden a mantenerse a salvo cerca de las serpientes sin hacer cosas arriesgadas como agarrarles la cola.

Desde principios de año, una treintena de alumnos de distintos trabajos, como militares y personal de zoológico, han completado el curso.

Algunas personas, como Rex Narf, que ha atrapado serpientes durante años, creen que la experiencia es más importante que la formación. Pero McGannon dice que todos los adiestradores tienen el mismo objetivo: ayudar a la gente a aprender a mantenerse a salvo y a proteger tanto a las serpientes como a los humanos.
