Elecciones en Eslovaquia – nivel 2

Robert Fico, político prorruso, ganó las elecciones eslovacas el pasado fin de semana. Su partido SMER-SSD obtuvo casi el 23% de los votos, e intentará formar un nuevo gobierno.

Fico se opone al apoyo militar de la UE a Ucrania, al igual que el primer ministro de Hungría, Viktor Orban. Aunque Fico quiere enviar ayuda humanitaria a Ucrania, no quiere proporcionarles armas. Eslovaquia es miembro de la OTAN, pero mucha gente simpatiza con la opinión rusa de que Occidente quiere perjudicar a Moscú.

Esta elección representa un alejamiento del liberalismo político en Europa Central, similar a la política del húngaro Viktor Orban. Fico también pretende iniciar controles fronterizos con Hungría para detener la inmigración ilegal.
