El nuevo submarino nuclear de Rusia, el Imperator Alejandro III, ha probado con éxito un cohete intercontinental Bulava.
El ejército disparó el cohete desde debajo del agua en el Mar Blanco, y alcanzó un objetivo en la península de Kamchatka. El Ministerio de Defensa declaró que esta prueba es el último paso antes de que el submarino se incorpore a la Armada.
El Imperator Alejandro III pertenece a la clase Borei y transporta 16 misiles Bulava con un alcance de 8.000 kilómetros.
El presidente Vladímir Putin aumentó el gasto militar para hacer aún más fuertes las fuerzas armadas rusas. Las relaciones con Estados Unidos son muy malas, pero un portavoz del Kremlin cree que se reanudarán los contactos entre los dirigentes de ambos países.
