Rescate en teleférico en Pakistán – nivel 3

Ocho personas fueron rescatadas de un teleférico que se quedó atascado a cientos de metros por encima de un barranco en el noroeste de Pakistán.

Un helicóptero militar y equipos terrestres llevaron a cabo una arriesgada operación para rescatarlos. El grupo, en el que había seis niños de entre 10 y 16 años, se dirigía a la escuela cuando se rompió uno de los cables. Fueron llevados a tierra sanos y salvos utilizando una tirolina, y una multitud aliviada celebró su rescate.

El ejército paquistaní describió la misión como extremadamente difícil y peligrosa. El incidente ocurrió cerca de la ciudad de Battagram, en la provincia de Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. La zona montañosa está situada a una altitud de 2.000 metros sobre el nivel del mar, y hay pocas infraestructuras, como carreteras e instalaciones básicas. El teleférico, conocido como Dolly, se utiliza para el transporte en la región.
