Ladrillos Lego sin aceite – nivel 3

El fabricante danés de juguetes Lego ha abandonado un proyecto de gran repercusión para sustituir los plásticos derivados del petróleo en sus ladrillos.
Descubrieron que el uso de un nuevo material fabricado con tereftalato de polietileno reciclado (RPET) provocaría mayores emisiones de carbono. El director general de Lego, Niels Christiansen, explicó que habían probado numerosos materiales pero no habían encontrado una alternativa adecuada. No obstante, Lego sigue comprometida con la sostenibilidad y tiene previsto crear juguetes con materiales ecológicos para 2032.
La empresa emprendió este viaje en 2020 para sustituir sus ladrillos de plástico por opciones sostenibles. El principal reto era encontrar un material que fuera respetuoso con el medio ambiente y que conservara el mismo color, brillo y sonido que los ladrillos de plástico derivados del petróleo.
