Un terremoto poco frecuente sacudió Nueva Jersey. Hizo temblar edificios de Nueva York y zonas cercanas.
El terremoto tuvo una magnitud de 4,8. Ocurrió sobre las 10:20 hora local. Afortunadamente, no causó grandes daños. El Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU interrumpió una reunión en Nueva York debido al terremoto. La gente dijo que pudo sentir el temblor durante unos 15 ó 20 segundos.
Los terremotos no son habituales en Nueva York, pero ya han ocurrido antes. El más reciente ocurrió en enero de 2024. Sorprendió a muchos, pero los expertos creen que no tendrá un gran impacto en la población local.
