La gente iba a ver a grupos famosos y a disfrutar de la música en directo. Pero ahora, las entradas y los viajes son demasiado caros para mucha gente. Algunos dicen que cuesta demasiado volar y alojarse en un festival.
En 2024, había más de 1.000 festivales de música en EEUU, pero los organizadores cancelaron 40 de ellos. Incluso Coachella tuvo menos gente. Los aficionados no quieren gastarse 600 dólares o más sólo para ver a unas pocas bandas.
Los jóvenes también disfrutan de la música de nuevas formas. Retransmiten conciertos por streaming o los ven en juegos como Fortnite. Los festivales deben cambiar o abaratarse, o puede que los fans no vuelvan.
