Científicos de la Universidad China de Hong Kong crearon un limo magnético que se cuela por espacios estrechos, rodea objetos más pequeños y se cura a sí mismo.
Los imanes controlan el limo, que puede actuar como sólido y como líquido. Los científicos prevén que el limo podría ser útil en el aparato digestivo, por ejemplo para reducir los daños causados por la ingestión accidental de objetos como pilas.
Los científicos mueven el limo con imanes externos. Aunque las partes magnéticas son tóxicas, son seguras cuando están recubiertas de un compuesto de silicona. El llamado robot blando también puede doblarse, desplazarse y cambiar de forma para adoptar formas de O y C.
La gente en las redes sociales comparó la mancha oscura con Flubber, la sustancia homónima de la película de ciencia ficción de 1997, y la describieron como asombrosa y un poco terrorífica.
