Los legisladores israelíes empezaron a debatir el domingo un proyecto de ley para limitar los poderes del Tribunal Supremo, iniciado por la coalición nacionalista religiosa del primer ministro Benjamín Netanyahu.
Las protestas contra el gobierno hicieron que Netanyahu detuviera el plan en marzo y mantuviera conversaciones con los partidos de la oposición. Pero esas conversaciones no tuvieron éxito y Netanyahu ordenó la reactivación de algunas de las leyes. El nuevo proyecto de ley será una versión menos extrema de las propuestas anteriores, que pretendían reducir en gran medida el poder del Tribunal Supremo para fallar contra el gobierno.
La oposición afirma que el nuevo proyecto de ley sigue permitiendo la corrupción. Algunos políticos pidieron a Netanyahu que detuviera el proyecto de ley e iniciara conversaciones con la oposición.
