Indonesia celebró su 79º Día de la Independencia en Nusantara, la futura capital del país.
Esta nueva ciudad es un gran proyecto del presidente Joko Widodo, pero hay muchos retrasos y costes más elevados de lo esperado. Algunos edificios gubernamentales aún no están listos, y no había suficientes hoteles para todos los invitados, por lo que acudió menos gente a las celebraciones.
El proyecto debería costar 3.000 millones de dólares, pero hasta ahora no hay inversores extranjeros. El gobierno afirma que el 88% de la primera fase está terminada, pero el mal tiempo ralentiza las obras. El presidente electo Prabowo Subianto afirma que seguirá trabajando en Nusantara, pero no está claro si será uno de sus principales objetivos.
