Durante un partido de hockey sobre hielo entre Sheffield Steelers y Nottingham Panthers se produjo un trágico accidente. Adam Johnson, jugador de Nottingham Panthers, sufrió un corte accidental en la garganta con la cuchilla del patín de un adversario.
Los paramédicos intentaron salvarle la vida directamente sobre el hielo, pero lamentablemente no sobrevivió. Matt Petgrave, que se vio implicado en el accidente, estaba muy afectado por lo ocurrido. La novia de Johnson, Ryan Wolfe, publicó un desgarrador mensaje en Instagram para expresar su amor y su dolor. La comunidad del hockey está muy triste. Johnson tuvo una exitosa carrera.
