El 28 de febrero, dos trenes chocan cerca de la ciudad de Larisa, Grecia.
Uno de los trenes es de pasajeros. Hay personas en él. El segundo tren es de mercancías. Transporta materiales y mercancías. Cuatro vagones del tren de pasajeros salen de las vías. Se declara un incendio. Mueren 57 personas. Muchas personas acaban en el hospital. Es el peor accidente ferroviario de la historia de Grecia.
Desde el accidente, se producen varias protestas en Grecia. La gente está enfadada. Dicen que los trenes no son seguros. Hay problemas con los sistemas electrónicos. Estos sistemas avisan de que hay un tren delante. Este problema dura muchos años. El gobierno griego no resuelve el problema.
