El oro parece un lugar seguro para el dinero cuando todo lo demás está cambiando. Países como China y Japón también compran oro para fortalecer su dinero. Los bancos centrales quieren guardar oro para mantenerse a salvo si sus economías tienen problemas.
Aunque el oro no sea muy útil en las fábricas, la gente lo sigue queriendo. Es importante en muchas culturas, y la gente cree que siempre mantendrá su valor.
