El ex patrón de la Fórmula 1 Bernie Ecclestone no tendrá que ir a la cárcel tras haber admitido fraude fiscal.
Ha pedido perdón por no decir la verdad sobre sus activos en el extranjero, valorados en más de 492 millones de dólares. Pagará 803 millones de dólares en impuestos, intereses y multas por 18 ejercicios fiscales desde 1994 hasta 2022. El hombre de 92 años dijo que había mentido a las autoridades fiscales en 2015 al afirmar que no poseía algunos bienes, entre ellos uno que envió a una cuenta bancaria de Singapur en 2010 por valor de 500 millones de dólares.
El juez impuso a Ecclestone una condena de 17 meses de prisión en suspenso, lo que significa que sólo irá a la cárcel si incumple la ley en un plazo de dos años.
