A partir de enero de 2026, la UE pedirá a las empresas que paguen un impuesto sobre el carbono por algunos materiales procedentes de otros países. Este impuesto dependerá de la cantidad de carbono que generen los materiales y objetos. La UE afirma que esto ayuda a las empresas europeas
y mantiene unas normas justas. Algunos países no están de acuerdo con la norma, por ejemplo, Estados Unidos, China o India. Dicen que es mala para los negocios. Les preocupa que haya más problemas en el futuro.
La UE dice que el impuesto ayuda al planeta. Hace que la producción sea limpia. La UE también quiere utilizar el dinero para ayudar a sus propias empresas.
