Etiopía permite ahora a las empresas volver a minar Bitcoin. El país construyó una gran presa que produce mucha electricidad. Pero muchas personas siguen sin estar conectadas a la red eléctrica.

Así que el gobierno vende la energía extra a los mineros de Bitcoin. Estas empresas pagan grandes tasas, que ayudan a construir más líneas eléctricas. El año pasado pagaron unos 220 millones de dólares. El plan es dar electricidad a todo el mundo para 2030, pero esto es difícil de conseguir.

Minar Bitcoin en Etiopía es barato. Cuesta unos 20.000 dólares, pero un Bitcoin se vende por más de 100.000. Por tanto, Etiopía es atractiva para los mineros. En Europa, la electricidad es mucho más cara. Por ahora, Bitcoin está creciendo, y los expertos creen que Etiopía puede convertirse en un lugar importante para la minería.
