El historiador Flip Maarschalkerweerd encontró un carné de miembro nazi que perteneció al difunto príncipe holandés Bernhard. Algunas personas piden que se investiguen sus vínculos con el NSDAP, el partido de Adolf Hitler.
El príncipe Bernhard, que se casó con la familia real holandesa en la década de 1930, negó que fuera nazi, pero afirmó que formó parte de unidades militares nazis. Dijo que era lo habitual para los hombres de su edad en aquella época. Aunque existían sospechas sobre sus vínculos nazis, mucha gente criticó que el príncipe Bernhard nunca admitiera que perteneció al NSDAP.
El gobierno holandés confirmó el descubrimiento de la tarjeta, pero no quiere iniciar una nueva investigación.
