David Hockney dies – nivel 3

El famoso artista británico David Hockney ha fallecido en su casa de Londres a los 88 años, justo un mes antes de cumplir 89.

Hockney era ampliamente reconocido como una de las figuras más influyentes de la era moderna y una de las principales figuras del movimiento del pop art de los años 60.

A lo largo de su dilatada carrera, fue un genio creativo al que le encantaba experimentar con diferentes medios. Innovaba constantemente utilizando la pintura tradicional, la fotografía e incluso iPads digitales para capturar el mundo que le rodeaba. Quizá Hockney sea más conocido por sus impresionantes cuadros de piscinas californianas bañadas por el sol, en los que exploraba la luz, el agua y los colores alegres. En 2018, uno de estos icónicos cuadros de piscinas se vendió por casi 70 millones de libras en una subasta, batiendo el récord para un artista vivo.

Trabajaba duro entre cuatro y seis horas cada día porque dibujar le daba un propósito claro, siguiendo siempre su única y sencilla regla: pinta las cosas que te gustan.
