Andrej Babiš, rico empresario y ex dirigente de la República Checa, ganó las elecciones nacionales con su partido ANO. Su grupo obtuvo cerca del 34,6% de los votos, más que el equipo del actual primer ministro Petr Fiala.
Babiš necesita ahora otro partido que le ayude a formar gobierno. Es posible que trabaje con partidos más pequeños que estén de acuerdo con él. Babiš suele hablar en contra de la Unión Europea y no es partidario de dar armas a Ucrania. Quiere gastar menos dinero en defensa y centrarse más en su propio país.
Durante su campaña, prometió energía más barata y mejores pensiones para los habitantes de Chequia. A muchos votantes les gustó su idea de dar prioridad a los ciudadanos checos.
