La COP29 es la reunión de la ONU sobre el clima. Se celebra todos los años. Acaba de empezar en Bakú, Azerbaiyán.
Se reúnen dirigentes de 200 países. Hablan de detener el calentamiento global. Quieren evitar que las temperaturas suban por encima de 1,5 °C. Este es el objetivo del Acuerdo de París. Los científicos afirman que 2024 será el año más caluroso hasta la fecha. Pero el nuevo presidente de EEUU, Donald Trump, no está de acuerdo con las grandes acciones climáticas. EEUU envía gente a la reunión. Nadie sabe qué ocurrirá cuando Donald Trump tome posesión de su cargo en enero.
Este año, las naciones más ricas también hablarán de dar dinero a los países más pobres. Este dinero debería ayudarles a abandonar los combustibles fósiles. Muchos países pobres quieren mucho más que los 100.000 millones de dólares que reciben cada año.
