Monjes budistas llegan a Washington – nivel 2

13-02-2026 15:00 Diecinueve monjes budistas cruzan Estados Unidos a pie durante 108 días y llegan a Washington. Comienzan en Texas y recorren más de 3700 kilómetros. Quieren compartir un mensaje de paz y tranquilidad.

Muchas personas los siguen por Internet y se reúnen con ellos en diferentes ciudades. Los monjes visten ropas de color naranja y viajan con un perro de rescate. Muchas personas les dan la bienvenida en Washington. Alrededor de 3500 personas se sientan en silencio en una gran sala para mostrarles su respeto. Durante el viaje, un camión choca contra su coche. Dos monjes resultan heridos y uno de ellos pierde una pierna. Más tarde, se une de nuevo al grupo en silla de ruedas.

Los monjes dicen que no planean una protesta política. Enseñan meditación y piden a la gente que viva en paz todos los días. El número 108 tiene un significado especial en el budismo.
