El Gobierno británico se encuentra en una situación muy complicada, y es posible que el primer ministro Keir Starmer tenga que dejar su cargo.

Esta crisis empezó después de que su partido político perdiera muchas elecciones locales. Tras estos malos resultados, varios políticos importantes dimitieron del Gobierno. El ministro de Sanidad, Wes Streeting, se fue y dijo que el primer ministro no tenía un plan claro para el país.

Streeting anunció que quiere convertirse en el nuevo líder y primer ministro. Otro político popular también quiere desafiar a Starmer, pero primero tiene que ganar unas elecciones locales especiales para entrar en el Parlamento.

Esta situación política es un gran problema para la Unión Europea. El Reino Unido y la UE tenían previsto firmar un nuevo acuerdo para facilitar la venta de alimentos británicos a Europa, pero ahora será difícil concluir estas negociaciones. A los líderes británicos también les preocupa que un partido político antieuropeísta esté ganando popularidad. Según los informes, más de la mitad de los votantes británicos desean ahora volver a la UE.
