Volkswagen es el mayor fabricante de automóviles de Europa. La empresa tiene previsto invertir en minas.

Volkswagen quiere controlar la cadena de suministro. Hoy en día, los fabricantes de coches no quieren depender de piezas o materiales de otras empresas. Pronto, los fabricantes de coches fabricarán únicamente coches eléctricos. Necesitarán materias primas para las baterías. El problema es que las minas no producen suficientes materiales. Si los fabricantes de coches controlan las minas, la situación será más fácil para ellos.

Volkswagen quiere construir fábricas de baterías en Europa y Norteamérica. Enviará baterías a otros fabricantes de automóviles.
