Anthony Albanese ganó otro mandato como primer ministro de Australia. Su Partido Laborista obtuvo una gran victoria.
El otro líder, Peter Dutton, no sólo perdió las elecciones, sino también su escaño en el Parlamento tras 24 años. Los expertos dicen que las ideas de Dutton se parecían demasiado a las de Donald Trump, y perdió apoyo con el tiempo. Albanese se centró en ayudar con la sanidad, la energía y el coste de la vida. Estas promesas fueron populares. También se esforzó por conseguir el apoyo de los votantes jóvenes, utilizando podcasts y las redes sociales. Los jóvenes votan ahora más que los mayores en Australia. Los laboristas tienen ahora un gobierno fuerte, pero deben cumplir sus promesas. Muchos votantes también apoyaron a partidos pequeños o independientes. Eso significa que los grandes partidos tienen que entender por qué la gente busca nuevas opciones.
