La Tierra tiene mucha basura espacial a su alrededor, incluidos satélites antiguos. Esto es un problema, pero también una oportunidad para algunas empresas.
La empresa japonesa Astroscale ha tenido un buen comienzo en bolsa. La empresa cuenta con el apoyo de Japón, EEUU y el Reino Unido. Quieren fabricar una herramienta que pueda coger viejos satélites y chatarra y empujarlos hacia la Tierra, donde arderán en la atmósfera. La empresa afirma que hay unas 10.000 toneladas de basura espacial, que es peligrosa para los satélites y estaciones espaciales en funcionamiento.
Otras empresas espaciales de Japón, como Moon Explorer iSpace e IQPS, también van bien. Tokio quiere dar mucho dinero para que la industria espacial sea mayor y más segura.
