El hielo de la Antártida está en su nivel más bajo – nivel 1

En la Antártida hay un problema. El hielo del mar se está volviendo muy pequeño. Este invierno, es el más pequeño de la historia.
Esto preocupa a los científicos porque creen que se debe al calentamiento global. Es malo para animales como los pingüinos. Necesitan el hielo para sus hogares y sus crías. Además, puede hacer que la Tierra se caliente más porque el hielo devuelve la luz solar al espacio.
El 10 de septiembre de este año, el hielo sólo cubre 16,96 millones de kilómetros cuadrados. Es la cifra más baja desde 1979. En 1979, los científicos empezaron a utilizar satélites para observar el hielo. El antiguo registro de 1986 tiene más hielo, aproximadamente 1 millón de kilómetros cuadrados más.
