Baldoni afirmaba que Lively le había acusado injustamente de acoso sexual durante el rodaje de It Ends with Us. Sin embargo, el juez dijo que la denuncia de Lively ante una agencia de California era privilegiada, lo que significa que estaba protegida legalmente. El juez también desestimó la demanda de 250 millones de dólares de Baldoni contra The New York Times, que había informado sobre el conflicto.

El juez dijo que Baldoni no había aportado suficientes datos para apoyar la afirmación de que Lively y otros intentaron arruinar su reputación a propósito.
