Stephen McCullagh, un creador de contenido de YouTube, ha sido declarado culpable del asesinato de su pareja embarazada, Natalie McNally. Para ocultar el crimen, se inventó una coartada muy elaborada usando una retransmisión en directo de seis horas de un videojuego.

La noche del asesinato, tus suscriptores te vieron jugar y beber, pero el vídeo se había grabado en realidad cuatro días antes. McCullagh les dijo a los espectadores que no podía responder a los comentarios por problemas técnicos, para que no se dieran cuenta de que no era en directo. Mientras se reproducía el vídeo, fue a casa de Natalie y la atacó. Durante las seis semanas posteriores al crimen, se comportó como un novio afligido, asistió a su funeral e incluso visitó su tumba. Sin embargo, la policía acabó confiscando su ordenador y descubrió sus mentiras.

El tribunal escuchó que los celos podrían haber sido el motivo, ya que Natalie estaba pensando en romper con él. McCullagh será condenado a finales de este año.
