El microARN es una molécula muy pequeña. Ayuda a controlar cómo funcionan los genes en el cuerpo. Los genes le dicen al cuerpo cómo fabricar los músculos, el corazón y el cerebro. Al principio, los dos hombres encuentran microARN en los gusanos. Más tarde, ven que también es importante para las personas.
Su descubrimiento ayuda a los científicos a saber más sobre el funcionamiento del cuerpo. La medicina aún no puede utilizar este descubrimiento. Pero puede ayudar en el futuro.
