En Grecia, hay un periodo especial en primavera. La gente no come carne ni toma leche durante muchos días. Es una tradición muy antigua. Se llama Cuaresma.
Los monjes viven en una casa llamada monasterio. Solo comen verduras, fruta y legumbres. No comen huevos. Dicen que esto les hace sentirse bien y fuertes. Los médicos creen que es saludable para el cuerpo. Ayuda al corazón y a la sangre.
Mucha gente en la ciudad también hace esto antes de Pascua. Compran pescado y verduras en el mercado. Es una buena forma de estar sano y pensar en Dios.
