Nancy Pelosi, la primera mujer en convertirse en Presidenta de la Cámara de Representantes de Estados Unidos, ha anunciado que se retirará del Congreso tras más de 35 años de servicio.
En su vídeo de despedida, Pelosi reflexionó sobre su larga carrera política y su profunda conexión con su ciudad natal, San Francisco. Celebró la creatividad, la resistencia y la diversidad de la ciudad, y la calificó como el lugar más bello de la Tierra. Durante sus 20 legislaturas en el Congreso, Pelosi ayudó a aprobar importantes leyes, como la Ley de Asistencia Sanitaria Asequible y medidas de apoyo a la energía limpia y la creación de empleo. Dio las gracias a los habitantes de San Francisco por confiar en ella y dijo que representarlos era su mayor honor.
