Los productos menstruales de plástico son malos para la naturaleza. Son el quinto plástico más común en las playas europeas. Hay más que vasos y pajitas de plástico.

El Parlamento Europeo quiere encontrar mejores opciones. Están estudiando el uso de materiales biodegradables, como fibras de algas, para fabricar tampones.

Estos tampones son de un material blanco. Por tanto, no es necesario hacerlos blancos con productos químicos. Es importante cultivar estos materiales de forma que no perjudiquen al mundo natural. Los investigadores están trabajando en mejores formas de hacerlo en la tierra y en el mar. Tenemos que tirar menos plásticos.
